Backbreaker Football is a combination of 3D accelerometer and touch control : Tilt your Droid X2 forward to run then left or right to run in that direction. On screen controls starting from left to right include the showboat icon with stars light up when you have past defenders, slows you down making it possible for defenders to catch up and tackle you but racks up bonus points. Then there is left spin, left/right juke to side-step defenders, and sprint represented by the icon with the lightning bolt. Before long, you’ll be dropping in a few fancy sidesteps or spins to avoid being pummeled by the opposition. Furthermore, the ‘zone’ may be cut out of the field limiting where you can go during your return with additional spots yielding more points if you can run over them.

The 3D graphics are amazing and shows the level of gaming Droid X2 is capable of handling as angle of view is just behind the player immersing you into the action. The repetitive motion –captured animations won’t allow you to get bored when the graphics look so bone-crunching natural and the collision of two bodies looks painful. The stadiums are expertly detailed with 80,000 screaming fans surrounding your player. The 3D modeling is great for a mobile game and Backbreaker looks phenomenal due to the excellent mix of realistic sound effects, crowd noise and vibration when tackled.
