Along with how to root the Motorola Droid X, I have received questions on how to SBF the phone back to stock. It is a fairly easy task, but it can be risky. The main thing to remember is to not unplug your Droid X at all during the process. This could end up bricking your phone, which basically does what it says: turn your phone into a useless brick. Don’t let this turn you away because if you end up screwing up your  phone via rooting, you can take it into Verizon and have them replace your phone. It will make it seem like you did absolutely nothing to your Droid X.

This can be a warranty saving process, and can be very useful. I just did this today because I was anxiously awaiting Gingerbread, yet Verizon rejected the update from Motorola. Thanks a lot Verizon. Learn to update your phones.

Anyways, heres the walk-through.

1. Download the files here.

2. Open up RSD Lite.

3. Click the ellipsis (…) button to load the SBF file.

4. Turn off your phone if not already.

5. Press and hold the camera, volume down, and power button.

6. Plug your phone into the computer via USB cable.

7. Hit Start.

DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR PHONE
