[Update: Verizon testing Froyo for Motorola Droid X. Read more...]

Motorola Droid X has not yet seen its day for the official update to Android 2.2 or Froyo. But there were a few leaks of the update on some website and some of the Droid X users have already updated their phones to Android 2.2. I think Motorola has taken this very seriously and is kind of pissed off with this. It has also noticed C&D to the website that leaked the update.

Meanwhile, Motorola has also asked its Droid X users to wait for the official release of the update to Android 2.2. The company also said that if you install this leaked version of the update, you may not be able to get the official update as the leaked version “blocks” the official version. So those who have not update, decide on this, and those who have already updated, think what you are going to do about this.

The users who have downloaded the unofficial leaked version of the update say that the update is working well and there are no issues, rather, they are happy with their phones running the latest OS. Anyway, Motorola also said that there are going to be two ways to update your phone, one is the over the air download, or the OTA, and the other is manual. It has stated that the update will be released early Sep. This is early Sep. already and you may expect the update for your Motorola Droid X in a few day’s time.
