Motorola Droid X Specs
Motorola Droid X is also known as Motorola Droid Shadow and Motorola Droid Xtreme MB810. Motorola Droid X is a CDMA phone, not a GSM. It supports CDMA 800/1900 and CDMA2000 1xEV-DO. With dimensions of 127.5 x 65.5 x 9.9 mm, its a pretty bulky phone. And it weighs 155g.
It has a 4.3″ TFT capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 480×854. It supports multi-touch, as many other Android phones. It has an accelerometer which makes the UI rotate when the phone is rotated. And it also has a proximity sensor to turn-off the display automatically.
When it comes to alerts, it has vibration, MP3 and WAV ringtones, pretty much the standard. Speaking of standards, it has a speaker phone, and a 3.5mm standard audio jack. So you can plug in any of your favorite earphones to the phone.
It has an inbuilt memory of 6.5 GB for storage purposes and 512 MB of RAM. Thats very good for a handheld device. Its not long back, may 5 or 6 years ago, that computers still used 512 MB of RAM. Apart from the on-board 6.5 GB of storage, it has a microSD card slot which supports upto 32 GB cards. And the device comes with a 16GB card in box.
It has no GPRS and EDGE. But is has 3G with specifications Rev. A, up to 3.1 Mbps and wireless LAN of specifications Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA. Its has Bluetooth V2.1 with A2DP and USB support in the form of microUSB, V2.0.
Its has a camera which is a marvelous 8MP camera with dual LED flash. It takes snaps of resolution 3266×2450 pixels. It also has auto focus. The other desirable features of the camera include Geo-tagging, face detection, image stabilization. It supports HD video recording at 720P. But I dont know why, it has no secondary camera.
As I already mentioned, it runs on Google’s Android OS, to be specific, Android OS 2.1 (Eclair). It has a very powerful processor, TI OMAP 3630-1000 1 GHz processor. In the messaging department, it features SMS in a threaded view, MMS, IM, E-Mail and push E-Mail. Yes, push E-Mail!! Being an Android phone, it has full HTML browser, so you dont see the mobile version of the site when you browse on your phone.
It also has a stereo FM radio with RDS. It has Need For Shift installed in the phone. So you can start playing as soon as you unbox it. It has A-GPS and supports Java. Other features include Digital compass, MP3/WAV/WMA/AAC+ player,MP4/WMV/H.263/H.264 player, TV-out (720p video) via HDMI 1.4 port, Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, Google Search, Maps, Gmail,, YouTube, Google Talk, Document viewer, Photo viewer/editor, Organizer, Adobe Flash 10.1, Voice memo/dial/commands, T9.
It powers on with a Li-Po battery, 1540 mAh which gives a stand-by backup of 220 hrs and a talk time of 8 hrs.
